Aboutcodes for Advertisers

Did you know that 76% of Americans now own cell phones? Aboutcodes is a service offered free to consumers that allows them to learn more about products and services that are of interest to them. When a consumer sees an Aboutcode (which are typically found in advertisements), they simply call toll-free (typically from their cell phone), 1-888-321-ABOUT, and input the Aboutcode. This is considered an impulse interaction when the consumer interacts with your advertisment, on impulse. The Aboutcode is then saved to their account, which they then access online at a time convenient to them, by visiting www.aboutcodes.com. Once they login, they see their Aboutcodes and are able to click on them for further information about the products and services that intrigued them earlier. Aboutcodes does not share their personal contact information with advertisers, which means that they can use the service without any threat of receiving spam, junk mail, or phone solicitation from a product or service that they were merely interested in learning more about. Consumers can only use our service with participating advertisers, so they must look for our Aboutcode seal.

What are the biggest problems in advertising?
- Lack of knowledge as to what media are working the best for each ad campaign.

- Not getting feedback on the effectiveness of the ad campaigns until sometimes 30-60 days later (once you receive sales data).

- The rule of 8 -- trying to get your message in front of consumers eight times before it finally is recognizable by them.

- Only able to provide the consumer with a minimal amount of information to attract their attention (not much space on a billboard, or in a print ad; or much time in a 30-second TV or radio commercial)

Dreams can come true: Aboutcodes
- Aboutcodes informs you of what media are working the best for each campaign, as well as the specific placements in those media (for example, you'll know that one billboard is outperforming another; or that your print ad in the NY Times hit your target market better than the print ad in USA Today; etc)

- Real-time and instant feedback on the effectiveness of your campaigns. (You'll be able to know how many people had real interest in your ad, immediately after it runs in the Super Bowl). You'll be able to adjust/pull ads during your marketing campaigns as you see which ads of yours are most effective in achieving your desired results.

- Welcome to the rule of 1. Our service allows you to capture consumers during that quick interval of time that you have their attention with your ad -- an impulse interaction.

- Consumers that express an interest in your ad will be supplied with further information relevant to the specific ad they saw. (You supply a link to a specific webpage or website that the consumer will then visit)

Example Scenario

You are in charge of a multi-million dollar ad campaign launching a new automobile ("Basiq"), across multiple media in the USA. You are targetting 23-34 year olds and will be using a combination of billboards, magazine ads, newspaper ads, Internet advertising, and TV commercials. To assist in tracking the effectiveness of your advertising, you reserve a different Aboutcode for each specific ad.
- On NBC, you have two different commercials running -- you use these 2 different Aboutcodes: Basiq 1 and Basiq 2. Since users input Aboutcodes within seconds from when they see them, you will see in real-time, how many impulse interactions occur with users that see your commercials. By running your own tests of switching up the ads, you will be able to see which commercial is most effective in achieving impulse interactions.

- In USA Today, you have a full page ad in the Sports section (Aboutcode: Basiq 3) and also a half-page ad in the Lifestyles section (Aboutcode: Basiq 4). By switching the sections of the paper that those ads are running in on the next day, you will be able to see which ad and/or section achieved the most impulse interactions -- you might find that the half-page ad in the Sports section is most effective and may alter your campaign in real-time because of this knowledge.

- You then run different ads with different Aboutcodes in various magazines, billboards, and even your Internet advertising. During the campaign, with the addition of your real-time Aboutcodes' impulse interaction data, you are able to modify your campaign dollars towards those media and/or specific ads in media that are achieving the most response for more information, from your target market. You might find that your one TV commercial is getting the most impulse interactions, however they are primarily 16-21 year olds, which are not your targets; thus you may move the time slot(s) for when that commercial is airing, or you may drop it all together if it is being seen by the same consumers of your other commercial (which is getting impulse interactions primarily from your target 23-34 year olds).

Enhanced Aboutcodes

Pricing can vary for Enhanced Aboutcodes, which are custom and include additional features. Please contact us for further details. Examples of use include:
- Instant Conversation - a consumer needs a plumber and passes one on the road as she is driving home. Since the she doesn't have the plumber's phone number, she can: a) not do anything and forget about this plumber; b) dial 411 and tell them the name and street of the plumber, and pay $0.75; or c) call 1-888-321-ABOUT, input the Aboutcode that was advertised on the plumber's sign, and then be asked if they would like to be connected with the plumber right then. If the user chooses yes, then a call is initiated to the plumber while the user is on the phone, and the plumber gets an appointment for service. By using the Aboutcode, the plumber was able to achieve an impulse interaction from the user.

- Polls/Voting - user calls in and enters your Aboutcode. The user is then asked to input an answer, or select from the following answers (1, 2, 3, for example). The user's vote is recorded. Based on their vote, the information in their Aboutcode information page can be customized.

- Music - A user is at a store and wants to hear music from a CD they've heard about; or a friend wants the user to join them to see a concert for this new rock band. To get a taste of the music, the user calls in and enters the Aboutcode for the rock band. The user then listens to 30-second snippets of songs. During the listening of a song, the user can press a key on their phone to skip to the next track. Once finished, the user can be connected to a phone number to order concert tickets.

- Another music scenario - A consumer is at a concert for a rock band. The opening music act has an Aboutcode advertised on stage and all around the concert venue. The consumer likes the music and wants to check them out later (at home). The consumer calls 1-888-321-ABOUT and inputs the Aboutcode of the band, then hangs-up. The next day, the consumer logs into their Aboutcodes.com account and views more information on the band they saw the night before. In an ideal world, they then either buy the band's CD, sign-up for the band's mailing list, and/or attend a future concert for the band.

Pricing

Advertisers are charged per impulse interaction. An impulse interaction occurs when a consumer inputs your Aboutcode and then logs into their Aboutcodes account online. For a limited time, we are charging a reduced rate of $0.50 per impulse interaction.

Terms & Conditions: There is a minimum $20 commitment each month per Aboutcode; thus you will be charged at least $20 per month for each Aboutcode you reserve. Also, the only information you receive about inquiring users are demographics such as age, sex, ethnicity, and zip code (location). No information that personally identifies a user will be given out. Example information that will not be given out on our users includes name, mailing address, email address, or phone number.
